Oakwood Lodge is proud of its past charitable giving and its ongoing commitments

The Lodge was a Patron of the Middlesex 1998 Festival and a Grand Patron of the Middlesex 2009 Festival.

Over recent years the lodge has made donations to:

In addition, we have ongoing commitments to Age Concern, McMillan Nurses

YMCA

At the Ladies’ weekend of W Bro J Keller in 1999 both the YMCA and Great Ormond Street Hospital were supported from the raffle.

The then Charity Steward, W Bro Len Chaplin, was contacted by the YMCA and asked if the Lodge would like to join their Room Sponsor Scheme which supports vulnerable young people to give them a good start in life .

Because all of these young people are homeless they are moved into a YMCA flat which is support with our donations.

The YMCA then puts them in touch with the appropriate people to advance their education or get them employment which ever is their want.  They  are  also taught  to  look  after themselves  and eventually moved into a council or privately owned flat.

This normally takes about 18 months and the Lodge has supported this scheme every year since then.
